September is shaping up to be a food lover’s paradise in the Holy City. Residents should start clearing their schedules as both Charleston Restaurant Week and the Taste of Charleston will be held during the month. The fromer will be held September 3rd through the 14th, while the 34th annual Southern Living Taste of Charleston will take place from the 26th through the 28th.
Charleston Restaurant Week is a city-wide event that features over 100 restaurants offering specially-priced menus. Participating restaurants can be seen here.
The Taste of Charleston is a weekend full of events like:
- Iron Chef: Local chefs compete in a head-to-head battle
- Sweet & Southern: an upscale event at Harborside East
- The Main Event: a showcase of more than 50 local restaurants at Boone Hall Plantation. Includes demonstrations, live music, a children’s area, the waiters’ race, and more.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online or at the Charleston and Mt. Pleasant Visitor Centers, Boone Hall Farms, or any Southcoast Community Bank.
The Taste of Charleston is raises money for local charities including The Ronald McDonald House, Hollings Cancer Center, Hospitality Heroes, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Charleston County Schools Science Materials Resource Center.
