The Rusty Rudder on Tuesday announced that the restaurant will be closing its doors on Sunday, March 1st, 2020, so the ownership team can pursue new ventures outside the food and beverage industry.
According to a spokesperson, the Rusty Rudder team will “deeply miss the North Mt. Pleasant community and all those that have become part of the Rudder family since 2014. From visitors and regulars to local schools and charitable causes, the Rusty Rudder has truly loved their time in the Lowcountry.”
Through their spokesperson, the restaurant also said they wanted to thank all of the vendors, businesses, musicians and the numerous members of the management team and staff.
“We are grateful for all we have received from this journey and all we were able to contribute in return,” Brian Johnston, co-owner, said. “While this chapter is closing, we have nothing but fond memories, grateful hearts, and appreciation for everything the Rusty Rudder has brought us.”
The Rusty Rudder encourages the community to stop by throughout the final week and to join them for a send off on Saturday, February 29th for an all-you-can-eat oyster roast starting at 4 pm on the patio. The restaurant will operate under their normal hours through February 29th. The Rusty Rudder is located at 3563 N Hwy 17 .
