Mex 1 Coastal Cantina has not only created a new margarita variation – the Hibiscus Margarita – they are also sharing the recipe with the Charleston community.
Here’s how to make this libation at home:
Mex 1 Hibiscus Margarita

- 1 oz Vida Mezcal
- .5 oz Cappelletti Apertivo
- 3.5 oz Hibiscus Sour
Method:
Add all the above ingredients into a shaker & shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Pour into the appropriate glass and garnish with a lime wheel and half hibiscus sugar-salt* rim.
*Hibiscus Sugar-Salt: in a separate container, take ½ cup of sugar and ½ cup of salt and mix to combine. Add ½ tablespoon of hibiscus powder and mix to combine.
