On October 22nd, the inaugural Southern Fried Chicken Challenge will take place in The Grove at Patriot’s Point to decide who makes the Lowcountry’s best fried chicken.
During the event, 25 local restaurants will vie for the title which will be determined by a panel of judges and the event attendees. The challenge will also include live music (Plane Jane and Tidal Jive Band), vendors, and more. Tickets will be available beginning on August 15th. are available now. They can be purchased here.
The Southern Fried Chicken Challenge benefits The Green Heart Project and MUSC Shawn Jenkin's Children's Hospital. The Green Heart Project integrates school farms as outdoor classrooms in an effort to teach students the virtues of hard work, respect, and success. MUSC Shawn Jenkin's Children's Hospital is dedicated to enhancing the health of children throughout South Carolina, and supports excellence in pediatric patient care, teaching and research.
