Firefly Distillery will host its first Lowcountry boil event on Sunday, May 7th from 12 pm to 3 pm. The celebration will feature critically acclaimed Chef Graham Calabria, onsite music by DJ Kevin Breeze, and craft cocktails served until 4 pm. A limited number of tickets are available now and should be purchased in advance.
“We've hosted a crawfish boil and oyster roasts, so now it's time to bring the classic Lowcountry boil to the field of the distillery,” said Scott Newitt, co-owner of Firefly Distillery. “We love bringing the community together for these lively events and opening up the distillery for special hours on Sundays.”
The distillery previously teamed up with Chef Graham's Calabria’s Fine Foods and Lowcountry Oyster Company for its seasonal oyster roast series, and is partnering with the chef again to bring his innovative and unique flavors to this event. Tickets are only required for those that want to enjoy the Lowcountry boil and will include a one-gallon bucket for $35.
In addition to the Lowcountry boil, Chef Calabria has partnered with Lowcountry Oyster Co. to offer oysters on the half shell with all the accouterments for guests to purchase. Visitors can also purchase fare from local food truck Chicken Fats and James Brown's Famous Boiled Peanuts, as well as beer and soft drinks from satellite bars.
Open to the public, this outdoor event will feature Firefly cocktails and spirits, along with a full Bloody Mary bar for guests to sip on. Guests can bring their own chairs and blankets to spread out on the field, but pets, coolers, tents, and outside food and drink are not allowed.
While the distillery is typically closed on Sundays, the distillery is opening its doors to the public outside of normal operating hours for this special event. Firefly Distillery is currently open Monday through Saturday from 12 pm to 6 pm with extended hours on Fridays, offering tastings and cocktails with live music and food trucks on Saturdays.
