Fred and Joan Neuville, the owners of the popular Johns Island restaurant Fat Hen, on Tuesday announced on social media that they will be closing their restaurant. The couple has owned and operated the business for its entire 14-year run. The Neuvilles posted the following message on Fat Hen’s Facebook account: “Joan and I would like to thank our family, friends and community for the tremendous support over our 14 years of owning and operating Fat Hen! But we have sold the business and land and will be enjoying our next adventure in retirement! Thanks again! “ Fat Hen says their last day of service will be this Saturday. According to the Post & Courier, Minero, a Neighborhood Dining Group restaurant formerly located on East Bay Street in downtown Charleston, will move into the space. Fat Hen is located at 3140 Maybank Hwy.
