Downtown Charleston will soon be home to an “entirely breakfast-focused imbibe and gathering sanctuary” called Daps. It’s scheduled to open at 280 Ashley Avenue this fall.
A press release boasts that Jeremiah Schenzel and Nicholas Dowling have created a restaurant will “set the scene for a unique culinary and beverage experience.”
Though the menu has yet to be released, it’s expected to include an all-day breakfast menu anchored by light lunch, bar snacks, evening meals, and grab-and-go options.
This will be the first restaurant operated by the duo of Schenzel and Dowling. The former is well known in the Charleston food and beverage for his work with the Cocktail Club, Bar Mash, Scarecrow Hearth & Liquor Bar, and the South Seas Tiki Lounge.
Dowling brings 15 years of restaurant experience that began after graduating from Johnson & Wales University's College of Culinary Arts. Most recently, he served as the Head Distiller for High Wire Distilling.
Hours of operation will be Sunday to Tuesday from 8 am to 3 pm, Wednesday to Saturday from 8 am to 10 pm.
