Bittermilk, the local company that makes hand-crafted cocktail mixers, has unveiled that its fifth product will be the No. 5 Charred Grapefruit Tonic.
The new mixer consists of another local product, Bulls Bay Sea Salt, organic lime, lemon juices, organic cane sugar, cinchona bark, and grapefruit. That last ingredient is peeled and torched to extract a bitter yet refreshing citrus flavor.
The company says the new mixer will pair well with white spirits. They recommend using equal parts No. 5, booze, and soda water for a refreshing summer cocktail.
The release of the Charred Grapefruit Tonic is hot on the heels of late June’s launch of the No. 4 mix, a New Orleans Style Old Fashioned Rouge.
Aside from the No. 4 and No. 5 mixes, Bittermilk also makes a Bourbon Barrel Aged Old-Fashioned mix, a Tom Collins with elderflowers and hops mix, and a Smoked Honey Whiskey Sour mix.. The new product will be available on Sunday.
