Best Charleston Wine + Food Events That Haven’t Sold-Out Yet

Charleston Wine + Food is still a couple weeks away, but many events have been sold out for months. You may have missed your chance at some of the premier happenings, but plenty of top-notch events still have tickets remaining.

In my opinion, these are the best options (click on the name of the event to purchase tickets):

Opening Night: Rooted in Charleston
- Wednesday, March 1st at 7:30 pm in Marion Square
- Expect bites from more than 35 local chefs and a menu inspired by the Lowcountry's distinct foodways
- Rum and plenty of wine selections
- Singer-songwriter JD McPherson
The Granary Signature Dinner
- Thursday, March 2nd at 7 pm
- Executive Chef Brannon Florie and Chef Anthony Gray of Bacon Bros. (Greenville, SC) collaborate on the evening’s menu with wine pairings
- I think The Granary and Chef Florie are very underrated. The bigger names (FIG, McCrady’s) sold out their Signature Dinners, but this one should be fantastic too
5Church Signature Dinner
- Saturday, March 4th at 7 pm
- Menu created by Top Chef album Jamie Lynch and guest chef Todd Richards of White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails (Atlanta)
- Wine pairings
Commodores and Admirals
- Thursday, March 2nd at 10 pm
- Held at The Commodore
- Craft cocktails
- Bites by Cory Burke of Roti Roll, Andy Mcleod of The Lot, and Eric Warnstedt of the Hen of the Wood (Burlington, VT)
- Live DJ
Culinary Village – Sunday
- Sunday, March 5th at 12 pm in Marion Square
- If you’re a Charleston local, your ticket is $75 instead of the normal $125

Pecha Kucha + Wine + Food
- Friday, March 3rd at 6:30 pm
- Charleston Parliament will once again present a night of inspiring speakers discussing culinary topics

What the Pho?
- Saturday, March 4th at 8 pm
- A dozen local and guest chefs will offer their spin on oodles of noodles and other flavorful Eastern bites
- Craft cocktails, beer, and wine
- DJ Rehab beats
Descendants of Daniel: Impact of an Icon
- Friday, March 3rd at 3 pm
- Discussion with Daniel Boulud, one of the preeminent French chefs and authors in America, at the Woolfe Street Playhouse
- Other guests include chefs Michael Anthony, Gavin Kaysen, Jean-Francois Bruel, and Andrew Carmellini
- Led by Gail Simmons (Top Chef)
- An hour of mingling and networking will follow the panel
- Discounted tickets for local food & bev workers are available
SFA Dockside Supper
- Thursday, March 2nd at 6 pm
- Southern Foodways Alliance curates a Dockside Supper (at Boone Hall Plantation) celebrating James Island soul food staple, Workmen's Cafe
- Guests will view the premier of an SFA film about Angie Bellinger who learned to cook from her mother and continues those same recipes, including her mother's lima beans, as the owner of the Workmen's.
- Working alongside Bellinger herself, this family style meal will be prepared by a host of chefs
Cajun Meets Lowcountry Boil
- Friday, March 3rd at 1 pm
- Location to be determined
- If you are looking for a no-frills event, this is the one.
- Lunch featuring the flavors of The Holy and Crescent cities
- Beer, Firefly Spirits, and live music
