One of my favorite organizations is holding their yearly oyster roast and I highly recommend you attend!
The 13th Annual Pet Helpers Oyster Roast will be held on Saturday, March 1st at the Visitor Center Bus Shed starting at 7 pm.
The fundraiser includes all-you-can-eat local oysters and is pet-friendly! Live music and other food and drink will also be available. If you can't attend, think about donating something for the silent auction or sponsoring the event.
Tickets are $35 for adults or $15 for children (12 & under) if purchased in advance. The price goes up by $5 at the doors. Dogs are allowed in for free. Tickets can be purchased here.
For those unfamiliar with Pet Helpers or this fundraiser, here is some background information straight from the organization:
“The Oyster Roast is one of the most important fundraising events of the year for Pet Helpers, a privately funded 501(c)3.
Pet Helpers is a no-kill animal shelter and public spay/neuter clinic that keeps all of its animals until they find FURever homes. While in the capable hands at Pet Helpers, each animal receives high quality medical care and attention, as well as the tender-loving-care that is so critical to the animal's quality of life.
The Adoption Center is open 7 days a week, and finds homes for over 1500 animals a year.”
