The Charleston Oktoberfest will return to Daniel Island for its 10th-straight year on Sunday, October 6th from noon to 5 pm. Blackbaud Stadium will once again be transformed into a Bavarian-style beer hall during the festivities.
This year's celebration includes live Oompah music, authentic German dancers, lots of German beers, a variety of food, The Bavarian Challenge, and children’s events. Plus, the first 1,000 patrons will receive a free commemorative beer stein.
The “Bavarian Challenge” pits teams against each other in a variety of events including tug-o-war, barrel races, three-legged races and bratwurst eating competitions.
Children's events include mini-soccer games, an inflatable combination game, and jump castles.
Tickets to Charleston Oktoberfest are $5 in advance or $8 on the day of even. There is no charge for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased here or at all area Piggly Wiggly stores.
Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities.
