Chef Collaboration Dinner with Chef Amethyst Ganaway
In celebration of Black History Month and benefiting Charleston nonprofit BE Impactful, The Mills House will host Lowcountry native Chef Amethyst Ganaway for a collaborative culinary experience on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. Combining the region’s Gullah-Geechee traditions, The Mills House’s 170-year history, and Chef Ganaway’s diverse background cooking among some of the top kitchens in the Holy City, guests can enjoy an intimate, six-course dinner at the hotel’s restaurant Iron Rose.
Envisioned by Chef Ganaway and Iron Rose Chef Gary Mennie, the evening will begin with a welcome cocktail reception in the historic courtyard followed by a collaborative menu of traditional Lowcountry dishes with unique preparations. According to event organizers, the evening will "spotlight regional producers and local community partners, weaving a nuanced and richly layered narrative of Charleston’s Black culinary heritage, from past to present." Guests can enjoy a curated wine, beer, or cocktail pairing with each course too.
Tickets are priced at $175 per person and include a welcome cocktail reception, followed by a six-course dinner with curated wine, beer, and liquor pairings guided by both chefs. Tickets are available via Resy and a portion of proceeds will benefit local Charleston non-profit BE Impactful.
