The George Hotel Announces New Programming

The George Hotel and its onsite restaurant The Independent this week announced new programming that includes outdoor dining, holiday events, a new Executive Chef, and more. You can find more details below.

The Independent
- Our New Executive Chef
  - Welcome Chef Corey Baunchalk, The Independent’s new Executive Chef! The Myrtle Beach resident has spent the past 15 years honing his culinary skills at restaurants down the east coast before officially joining the team at The Independent in October 2024. He is looking forward to working alongside his team to provide guests with a hospitable and memorable dining experience.
- Dining Al Fresco
  - The Independent is now offering outdoor dining for guests. Seating will include four four-top tables and one two-top table overlooking Georgetown’s historic Front Street.
- Thanksgiving Dinner
  - This year, The Independent will be open and offering dinner service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  - They will be serving dishes from their seasonal menu, along with a few Thanksgiving inspired dishes including a turkey dish, pumpkin pie, and an autumn inspired soup.

- Holiday Programming
  - Enjoy the Holiday Lights at Brookgreen Gardens Package
  - Celebrate the holiday season with the “Enjoy the Holiday Lights” package. The package includes two tickets to the enchanting Brookgreen Gardens “Night of a Thousand Candles,” where you can stroll through beautifully illuminated gardens. The package also includes a take home, custom branded holiday ornament as a special keepsake, along with a $30 food and beverage credit that can be used at The Independent or Eliza’s.

S’mores & More!
- This holiday season, The George will be offering guests a DIY s’mores kit that can be enjoyed at the outdoor fire pit located in their waterfront courtyard next to their outdoor bar, Eliza’s.
