The Charleston Place today announced “Mahjong Mondays,” a new event series in partnership with Holy Mahj taking place on select Mondays at The Palmetto Cafe within the hotel. Ideal for players of all skill levels, guests and locals are invited to learn and play the game of American Mahjong led by seasoned instructors Anne Ruder and Caroline Riley, founders of Holy Mahj. Each ticket includes a glass of wine or bubbly from the Thoroughbred Club, and additional cocktails and food are available for purchase.
“We’re so excited to partner with Holy Mahj on this new series at The Palmetto Cafe,” said Catherine Woods, director of communications and special programming for The Charleston Place. “Whether you are a seasoned player or brand new to the game, Mahjong Mondays will be the perfect place for laughter, strategy, and fun with friends. It’s not just a game; it’s a social gathering that promises unforgettable moments.”
Mahjong Mondays will take place at 5:30 pm at The Palmetto Cafe on the following dates: Feb. 12, Feb. 26, March 11, and March 25. Tickets are $100 per person, which includes a choice of one glass of red wine, white wine, or bubbly. Food and other beverages will be available for purchase through the Thoroughbred Club via a dedicated server.
When purchasing tickets online, select your level of play and who you would like to sit with. Mats and tiles are provided, and guests are asked to bring their own Mahjong cards. Cards will be provided for first time players.
