Summerville singer/songwriter David Perry has released "The Blues Ain’t What It’s All Cracked Up To Be,” the first single from his yet-to-be-titled 2025 album.
Blending his sometimes tongue-in-cheek lyrics with masterful lead and slide guitar by local guitarist David George Sink, Perry has come up with a Blues number that goes down easy even if you’re not a Blues fan. Recorded at Truphonic Studio in West Ashley with engineering/mixing by Elliott Elsey and mastering by the legendary Vlado Meller, this track’s laid back vibe will resonate with Blues and Indie fans alike.
Also featuring John F. Kennedy on bass and Sol Driven Train drummer Wes Powers on percussion, this is the follow up to Perry’s 2023 album Keep Showin’ Up. The song asks the question whether playing the Blues is worth the pain of living the Blues.
