Former South Carolina State Representative and attorney Mandy Powers Norrell and former prosecutor and current Legal Director of the South Carolina Victim Assistance Network Sarah A. Ford last week launched a podcast called “Palmetto Primetime with Sarah A. Ford and Mandy Powers Norrell.” The duo plan on continuing their commentary on the infamous Murdaugh case while tackling other legal issues in and out of South Carolina, current events, and state and national politics — all with a “feminist twist.” Palmetto Primetime will be available on YouTube and just about every streaming platform that hosts podcasts.
“While the trial of murderer Alex Murdaugh is over, there are so many systemic issues that got us here in the first place and Sarah and I want to talk about it,” said Powers Norrell, a South Carolina native and the 2018 Democratic candidate for South Carolina's Lieutenant Governor.
“Any conversation about justice without the perspective of victims and survivors is no conversation at all, and that's the background we will bring to Palmetto Primetime,” said Ford, another South Carolina born-and-bred lawyer.
Both women have decades of expertise to offer listeners and the media. They have appeared on CNN, NPR, Law and Crime Network, NewsNight, WLTX-19, WIS, and more. They now have their own platform to speak on a wide range of topics. Some episodes will be commentary while others will include special guests.
