On Thursday, September 15th, the Summerville Orchestra's (S.O.) jazz ensemble, SOJazzy, will perform a free concert in front of Town Hall on the south side of Hutchinson Square during the annual Sweet Tea Festival. The group will perform from 6 pm to 8 pm.
This marks the third time the popular jazz ensemble has performed during the Sweet Tea Festival week.
“The opportunity to perform these types of concerts and events in this awesome setting and to just get music out to people in our community for free is the biggest gift,” said S.O.'s Music Director Wojciech (“Voy-teck”) Milewski, who plays keyboard with the five-member ensemble. “We are grateful to Summerville DREAM for inviting us back for this collaboration and happy that the event continues to grow.”
The Summerville Orchestra will also have a table and tent set up both on Thursday evening and all day on Saturday, September 17th, during the Sweet Tea Festival. The S.O. will be giving away orchestra pins to the first 400 visitors to the booth on Saturday.
Single tickets for the S.O.'s Subscription Series concerts go on sale beginning Thursday, September 15th, and the S.O. will assist patrons interested in learning more or purchasing tickets in person on both Thursday and Saturday.
