On Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the historic Riviera Theatre, the Preservation Society of Charleston will host the 65th Carolopolis Awards presented by Belmond Charleston Place and Carriage Properties. Expanding on its tradition of recognizing exemplary efforts in preservation, the Society will present 13 Carolopolis Awards.
The Carolopolis Awards is the Society's marquee fundraising event celebrating the very best of preservation in Charleston. Following the awards program, you are invited to join the group for a full reception, beer/wine, and live music.
The Carolopolis Award was created in 1953 to recognize outstanding achievement in historic preservation. The presentation of a Carolopolis Award recognizes extraordinary private and public efforts to maintain the historic character and authenticity of Charleston and the Lowcountry. To date, the Preservation Society has presented more than 1,400 awards in recognition of such achievement. In 2016, the Society introduced new awards for the preservation of historic interiors as well as compatible new construction.
Advance tickets are $75 for members and $100 for guests and may be purchased at www.preservationsociety.org. Ticket price is $100 at the door, subject to availability. The price of your ticket directly supports the mission of the Society. The 65th Carolopolis Awards is presented by Belmond Charleston Place and Carriage Properties.
