Calling all Wizards, Witches, magical creatures and muggles: The Charleston Music Hall yesterday announced The Summer of Potter 2019! From June 10th to August 5th, the venue will screen all 8 Harry Potter films.
The Music Hall will transform into the Wizarding World with Potter themed decorations, surprises, and, a Harry Potter themed art exhibit in the upstairs gallery space. The venue encourages everyone to come dressed in your house robes or as your favorite Harry Potter themed character.
Do not be surprised when the sorting hat assigns you to a House upon entry, because they will have Potter themed trivia and Hogwarts House contests at every film. And if you want to be prepared in advance you can take a quiz to see in which Hogwarts House you belong.
The Music Hall Bar will be turned into the Three Broomsticks for each film, and will be serving up some Harry Potter themed treats.
Each film will start at 7 pm with the doors opening at 6:30 pm. The films will be $8 each, or you can purchase an 8 Film Pass for $50 (includes a specialty poster and the chance to play in the Summer Long Hogwart's House Contest).
The schedule is as follows:
- June 10th – The Sorcerer’s Stone
- June 17th – The Chamber of Secrets
- June 24th – The Prisoner of Azkaban
- July 1st – The Goblet of Fire
- July 8th – The Order of the Phoenix
- July 22nd – The Half-Blood Prince
- July 29th – The Deathly Hallows Part I
- August 5th – The Deathly Hallows Part II
The Summer of Potter Art Opening will be June 10th from 5 pm to 7pm and will be free and open to the public. The exhibit will be on display all summer and will include the work of 20+ local artists in all mediums.
All Summer of Potter posters (see below) were designed by Becca Barnet of Sisal Creative. These specialty poster prints will be available all summer at the Box Office.
