Singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter will perform at the Charleston Music Hall on Tuesday, August 7th at 7:30 pm.
The musician’s thirty year career has included five Grammy Awards won, more than 12 million records sold, and an induction in to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. She is the only artist to have won four consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
She is best know for the albums Shooting Straight in the Dark (1990), Come On Come On (1992), and Stones in the Road (1994). Her most popular songs include “Shut Up and Kiss Me,” “Down at the Twist and Shout,” “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her,” and “I Take My Chances.”
