This fall, the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art will officially celebrate its 40th anniversary with "Art in Motion," a festive event that will shine a light on artists past, present, and future. The celebration will take place on Saturday, October 26th.
Festivities include a free, community-driven parade within the College of Charleston's campus beginning on St. Philip Street at 1 p.m. (see the route map here) and a ticketed innovative and interactive art banner installation in the college’s historic Cistern Yard from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The ticketed component of the event will feature banners created by past and future Halsey exhibition artists alongside local Charleston artists, in which guests can purchase these one-of-a-kind creations for a flat price of $250. The catch? Buyers won't know the artist's identity until after the event concludes, adding some surprise and anticipation to the experience.
