GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization is embarking on a six-state, ten-city tour to highlight stories of LGBT southerners. The group will be in Charleston on Monday, June 15th at 5:30 pm.
During each stop on the tour, GLAAD will spotlight stories from the LGBT community that are accelerating acceptance. The Holy City visit will include a reception, a mini-documentary screening, and a panel discussion at the William Aiken House at 456 King Street.
The short film, “State of Change – South Carolina,” chronicles “pioneers in the Palmetto State’s movement for LGBT equality and lifts up the stories of LGBT South Carolinians and their allies working to accelerate acceptance.”
The event is free to attend. For more information and/or to RSVP, visit the official website. The tour will also stop in Columbia on Tuesday, June 16th.
