The League of Women Voters is showing the 2005 documentary film The Education of Shelby Knox on Sunday, July 27th at Cinebarre. The showing, which starts at 5 pm, will also include an discussion with the film’s namesake.
The film tells the coming-of-age story of Knox, who, at the age of 15, joined a campaign for comprehensive sex education in the high schools of Lubbock, Texas. The League of Women Voters is hosting this event in an effort to learn more about how the Comprehensive Health Education Act is being implemented. Tickets are $6 and available for purchase here.
