Charleston County Parks’ annual Dog Day Afternoons are returning in August and September. Splash Zone at James Island County Park and Splash Island at Palmetto Islands County Park will both host their Dog Day Afternoons on Saturday, August 17. Whirlin’ Waters at Wannamaker County Park will host their event on Sunday, September 8. At each event, there will be two sessions available for registration: a morning session from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and an afternoon session from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Advance ticket purchase is recommended as these events are expected to sell out. Tickets can be purchased per dog, per session. Owners are free with their pets and park admission is included. Advance registration will be $15 and on-site registration, if available, will be $20 per dog. Tickets are available now at charlestoncountyparks.com.
While dogs are allowed off their leash once they have entered the park, owners will be responsible for keeping them under control and should stay mindful of where they are at all times.
