Charleston's own Darius Rucker announced his new album will be called Carolyn’s Boy and released the first single, “Have A Good Time.”
Carolyn’s Boy is Rucker’s first solo album release in six years and will come out on October 6th, 2023. You can pre-save the album here.
“I wanted to name the record Carolyn’s Boy, because my Mom never got to see any of my success,” Rucker said. “She died before any of this happened, so it’s just another homage to the greatest woman I’ve ever known. Years ago, when I wasn’t really sure what my place in Country music was and I was trying to find it. Now I have found it – I know – and I think it’s time to give that record.”

Rucker grew up in the area and attended the University of South Carolina. While at the school, he formed Hootie & the Blowfish with some friends. Rucker also went on to have a successful solo career, but still performs with Hootie & the Blowfish. Between the band and his solo work, Rucker has sold millions of albums, scored several No. 1 singles, and earned multiple Grammy Awards.
