Comedian Evan Berke has released his debut comedy special, Twice Removed, on YouTube (see below), which debuted No. 1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts when it was released in June. Berke once called Charleston home and frequently performed here.
Twice Removed was recorded at Third Coast Comedy Club in Nashville, TN, on February 9, 2023 across two sold-out performances. The end result is a filmed special and 16-track album with a runtime of 54 minutes full of punchlines about growing up Jewish in the South. Long-form stories include Berke's misadventures on his way to chronicle the BET Hip Hop Awards and his thoughts on future fatherhood. B
The film was directed by Matthew Crosby and produced by Marie Anderson (Reformed Whores). Mike Purcell was the audio engineer.
For over a decade and a half, the Atlanta native has been honing his craft on stages all over the U.S. as a stand up, producer, host, and emcee. Berke is a regular on the nation-wide comedy festival circuit, most recently performing at the Charleston Comedy Festival, Cleveland Comedy Festival, and Back Hand and West End Comedy Festivals in Atlanta.
