The Charleston Symphony on Monday announced that they will present the community-favorite “Holiday Pops” concert at the Gaillard Center on December 21st, 22nd and 23rd at 7:30 pm each evening. Due to increased demand, a third performance was added to the schedule this season. While supplies last, patrons who buy two tickets will also receive a free pass to the Holiday Festival of Lights at the James Island County Park.
The Charleston Symphony says “Holiday Pops embodies the sounds of the season highlighted by a variety of musical choices, vocal performances, special guests such as Santa and joyous pipers, and fun celebrations for all.”
“Holiday Pops has become so popular that we added an extra performance to meet the demand,” said Charleston Symphony Artistic Director, Yuriy Bekker. “We promise you will leave with a smile on your face and joyous holiday music in your heart.”
Under the baton of Maestro Bekker, the Charleston Symphony will be joined by the vocal talents of Megan Moore and LaFaye Benton. The Charleston Symphony Orchestra Chorus will welcome the Cane Bay High School Chorus.
Audiences of all ages can enjoy carols and holiday favorites such as “Deck the Halls,” “Sleigh Ride,” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” There will also be a soulful re-imagination of “Hallelujah” written by Quincy Jones, selections from “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” Mariah Carey's “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” and more.
