The Charleston Performing Arts Center (C-PAC) will kick off 2019 with the beloved classic, ANNIE! on Friday, January 18th at 7 pm. The production will be held at the new Citadel Mall Community Stage next to the former Sears location. The show will include 7 performances through Sunday, January 27th.
Little Orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York Orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan, the other orphans help Annie escape to the wondrous world of NYC. In her fun-filled adventures, she foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt, Sandy.
ANNIE's cast includes young performers from the James Island Junior Theater, as well as professional adult performers from the greater-Charleston area. Guest artists from New York City include Patrick Cogan as “Oliver Warbucks,” Cait Kelly as “Lilly St. Regis,” Jonathan Cobrda as “Rooster,” Trina Vargas as “Grace,” Joshuah Simpson as “Mr. Bundles,” Maddie Casto as “Ms. Hannigan,” and Catherine Ashmore Bradley as adorable red haired “Little Orphan Annie.”
A portion of all ticket proceeds will be donated to the Carolina Youth Development Center. The organization's mission is to empower and equip the community's most vulnerable children by providing a safe environment, educational support and career readiness, in collaboration with families and community partners.
