Building Badasses, a local support circle for women in the building industry, focused on educating and empowering women to find their voices in all aspects of construction, announced the launch of their Construction 101 Crash Course, a new in-person or remote seminar serving female homeowners. The course is a 4-hour intensive capped at 10 participants, offered monthly throughout the fall. This in-person event aims to provide an efficient way for local female homeowners to learn the ins and outs of the construction industry to become educated and empowered to confidently pursue their upcoming renovation or new construction project in the changing COVID-impacted building landscape.
“Never before have women owned and maintained property as we have the opportunity to in this generation, but we aren't culturally conditioned to know how to interact with the construction industry,” said Emily Cox, leader of Building Badasses. “Over and over, I see female clients nodding along at a table full of men, only to pull me aside later and remark, ‘I'm embarrassed, but I don't understand what the contractor just said.”

The Construction 101 Crash Course dates are Saturday, August 28th; Saturday, September 25th; and Saturday, October 23rd. Cost to attend is $249 per person and ticket sales are limited to 10 participants for each date.
