Livability.com has released their rankings of the Top 25 Best Places to Live in the Southeast, and Charleston checked in at # 16 on the list.
The 2023 ranking of the best places to live in the Southeast was created using data collected from Livability's annual ranking of the Top 100 Best Places to Live, celebrating the best small and mid-sized communities across the U.S. The list is based on research into relocation trends, economic variables, and factors that influence the quality of life. Per Livability's emphasis on affordability, only cities with a median home value of $500,000 or less were included in the final ranking of the Top 25 Best Places to Live in the Southeast.
Here’s what the website had to say about Charleston:
“Prepare to be charmed by Charleston, SC, which has a steeple-studded skyline, colorful homes along Rainbow Row, cobblestone streets and a pineapple-shaped fountain at the Historic Waterfront Park. Founded in 1670, Charleston is the oldest city in South Carolina. It's known as the ‘Holy City’ due to the prominence of churches and was one of the only cities in the original 13 colonies that promoted religious tolerance.
Today, the city is an exciting combination of history, hospitality and culture. Mild winters, beautiful landscapes, great golf and an unmatched culinary scene all further contribute to the good life in Charleston.”
