Roof Gnome released a report on 2023’s Best Cities for Rooftop Drinking and they ranked Charleston as being the 20th best in the country.
To come up with their rankings, the company compared nearly 300 of the biggest U.S. cities based on a cocktail of 18 metrics. They factored in rooftop bar and lounge access, consumer ratings, affordability, and climate.

- Number of Hotels With Rooftop Bars – 7th
- Number of Top-Rated Hotels With Rooftop Bars (4.5+ Stars and 10+ Reviews) – 9th
- Share of Affordable ($) and Mid-Range ($$) Lounges With Rooftops – 161st
- Number of Extremely Cold Days – 82nd
