The Charleston Museum is encouraging guests to come and see the incredibly rare Eliza Lucas Pinckney dress – robe à la française before the special exhibit comes to an end on Sunday, July 9th. The centuries-old dress is part of the museum's Eliza Lucas Pinckney: A Legacy in Silk Exhibit, and it is a very rare experience to see it up-close and in-person.
Alongside the gown are several of Pickney's personal items, including an impressive pair of Pickney's shoes, a magnificent brooch, and a pin cushion she made when she was just 14 years old.
The Eliza Lucas Pinckney: A Legacy in Silk exhibit, which opened in May, will remain open to the public until Sunday, July 9 th in the Loeblein Silver Gallery as part of the Museum's ongoing 250 th anniversary celebration. The exhibit is free with admission to the Charleston Museum. Visitors can purchase tickets here.
