Azur, a new restaurant and cocktail lounge, has officially opened their doors at 159 Market Street in downtown Charleston. Accompanying the opening of the new restaurant is Azur Events, a private event space facing Archdale Street.
Guests can select from an array of charcuterie and cheese boards; a menu of French classics including Escargot Cassolette, Boudin Noir, and Boeuf en Croute; and a selection of housemade desserts. Not limited to just French cuisine, other European countries like Spain and Italy are represented with small plates like croquetas arancini and ricotta zucchini gratin. In addition to the food offerings, guests can expect handcrafted cocktails along with a curated, European wine list.
The restaurant is a family affair, with Executive Chef and Co-Owner Dominic Chantepie at the helm and his son, Mathis Chantepie, overseeing the beverage program. Joining the Chantepies as co-owner and general manager is Benjamin Boisson.
“We are thrilled to offer Charleston residents and visitors an unforgettable experience at Azur & Azur Events,” said Co-Owner Florence Chantepie. “With the opening of Azur & Azur Events, we will be able to cater to more people in the area and provide them with unique and memorable experiences.”
Both concepts are now open and accepting reservations. Lunch hours will be forthcoming.
