The Charleston Place and Buxton Books will present “The Science of Happiness: A Workshop with Dr. Arthur C. Brooks” at The Riviera Theater on Thursday, April 13th. The event is part of The Charleston Place and Buxton Books Literary Series that launched earlier this year.
Dr. Brooks (above right) is a Harvard professor, PhD social scientist, #1 bestselling author, and columnist at The Atlantic who specializes in using the highest levels of science and philosophy to provide people with actionable strategies to live their best lives. Blending cutting-edge research in behavioral science and neuroscience with philosophy and wisdom traditions, Dr. Brooks teaches people how to live a better, happier life. This interactive workshop at The Riviera will engage the audience with bold, clear, and actionable ideas in a format that is thought-provoking, unconventional, uplifting, and useful.

Dr. Brooks is the author of 12 books, including the 2022 #1 New York Times bestseller From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life. He speaks to audiences all around the world about human happiness, and works to raise well-being within private companies, universities, public agencies, and community organizations. Dr. Brooks is the William Henry Bloomberg Professor of the Practice of Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School, and Professor of Management Practice at the Harvard Business School, where he teaches courses on leadership, happiness, and social entrepreneurship.
