HALO Presents “Choose Your Own Operadventure” on Valentine’s Day
“This concert was designed to show the audience a little extra love this Valentine’s Day.” said HALO’s General Director Leah Edwards. “It’s always important for patrons to feel participative, not passive, so we’re inviting them to get in on the action.”
Presented at the Charleston Library Society, the concert stars HALO founders (and real-life sweethearts) Leah Edwards and Dimitri Pittas. The show, which is led by Francesco Milioto on piano and features Megan Marino and Kenneth Stavert, is a 60-minute program that includes performances of familiar arias, duets, and ensembles from beloved operas. Created to encourage audience involvement and unexpected twists, the outcome of the evening is a much a mystery to the artists as it is to the audience.
Complimentary champagne and chocolates will be served during the performance. A limited number of couples tables are available by reservation. Call (843) 388-3243 to reserve special seating.
Roses will also be available for purchase at $10 per rose. Bouquets of one dozen roses are available for pre-order at $100 per dozen and can include a pre-written note. All roses will be delivered to your seat during the concert. To purchase roses ahead of time, call (843) 388-3243.
“Opera is deeply romantic at its core,” Pittas, HALO’s Artistic Director, said. “A live concert topped off with champagne, chocolates, and roses? It’s the ideal all-in-one evening that is sure to win some hearts.”
“Choose Your Own Operadventure: Lovers’ Edition” is a one-night only event on Tuesday, February 14th at 6 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $35/$25 for Charleston Library Society Members. Charleston Library Society is located at 164 King Street.
