Beginning on Wednesday, November 2nd, downtown Italian restaurant Le Farfalle will debut the “da Toscano Porchetta Shop Pop-Up,” a celebration of the sandwich stalls and carts found on the streets of Chef/Owner Michael Toscano’s favorite Italian cities. The pop-up will run from noon to 2 pm every Wednesday for the month of November.
The da Toscano Porchetta Shop Pop-Up will feature authentic Italian-style sandwiches served with house-made focaccia bread and local pork from Holy City Hogs. Their signature Porchetta Sandwich is prepared out of a deboned whole local pig, rubbed with traditional aromatic spices (rosemary, fennel, garlic and black pepper). After hours of slow roasting, the Porchetta is sliced by hand and served on a warm focaccia with aged provolone, salsa verde, and extra virgin olive oil. The restaurant will also be serving a vegetable sandwich made with local vegetables and Italian cheeses.
