On Sunday, August 27th, the community is invited to celebrate all things Jamaica at the South Carolina Reggae Jerk & Wine Festival at Brittlebank Park from 1 pm to 7 pm.
Attendees can expect:
- Dr. Allan Cunningham, Jamaica Diapora Representative for the South East United States, who will be on his inaugural visit to Charleston
- Jerk seasoned foods paired with wine or beer
- Reggae music from The Dubplates, Wayne Hall of the Wayne Hall Show, and DJ Press
- Guests with Scotch Bonnet Tickets receive a complimentary engraved 9-oz. wine glass, as well as a complimentary jerk sample paired with wine
- Jamaican Ludo and Dominoes games
- Pepper Eating Contest
- A chance to network and learn about Jamaica Jerk
- A chance to learn about Jamaica from the Jamaica Tourist Board
This charity event supports Healthy Lifestyle Network and the fight to end child sexual abuse and human trafficking. Donations of school supplies, soccer balls (sizes 3 & 4), shin guards, arts & crafts, cotton fabric, and hand quilting thread are also welcomed.
Scotch Bonnet Tickets are $40 per person including the fees on Eventbrite. General Admission tickets are $25. No pets allowed.
