Home Team BBQ on Thursday officially opened the doors at their brand new Mt. Pleasant location. The popular local BBQ restaurant renovated the former home of the Rusty Rudder to bring their slow-smoked meats, live music, and frozen cocktails to the town.
“I have driven by this property for many years and this place just felt like a Home Team,” said Aaron Siegel, Chief operating partner. “We are excited to share this family-friendly space with the nearby neighborhoods, Wando High School, and Roper St. Francis Hospital.”
The team gathered artifacts from past Home Team events over the years, as well as, reclaimed materials from barns around the south to create the familiar “Home Team atmosphere.” As usual, the location will have a focus on music.
“We made a special trip to Macon Georgia to pick out a few pieces from the Kirk West's gallery,” Seigel said.

Kirk West is a well-known rock music photographer who spent over 20 years on tour with the Allman Brothers Band.
The restaurant also features an open-air courtyard. The space features several oversized picnic tables, six large TVs, a chalkboard for kids, a 20-foot community table, and room for cornhole.
Home Team BBQ will open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to midnight while they get settled into the new location. The full menu is available from 11 am to 10 pm. For those looking for drinks and a late-night bite, Home Team offers a sampling of BBQ and snacks from 10 pm to midnight. Daily specials, updates, and happenings will be shared on the Home Team BBQ social media pages.
