North Charleston's Dixie Majors baseball team on Wednesday won their 2nd consecutive World Series championship with a 10-7 win over a squad from Louisiana.
After winning the State of South Carolina title, North Charleston traveled to Nashville, TN to compete against 10 state champions from throughout the South in a five-day, double elimination tournament. North Charleston went into the title game against a team from Southland, LA. You can watch a video of the last pitch below.
This is North Charleston’s tenth World Series victory, which keeps them as the winningest city in World Series championships for Dixie Majors Baseball.
“We could not have had a better group of young men representing the City of North Charleston,” said North Charleston Recreation Director TJ Rostin. “This team has played a lot of baseball over the course of the season and all their hard work has culminated in another World Series title. I also congratulate the exceptional coaching staff that led this group throughout the season. Their hard work, countless volunteer hours and day to day dedication was a major factor in this team's success.”
