U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Charleston as the 22nd Fastest-Growing Place in the United States. Believe it or not, the list was topped by Myrtle Beach.
The fastest-growing cities in the country were determined by the net migration of each metro area, which is measured by the growth or decline of the population over the past five years. The percent increase in that period of time is how U.S. News determined the metro areas where the most people are moving. In addition to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, the only other South Carolina city to make the list was Spartanburg, which was ranked 11th.
