The Blood Connection (TBC), a local community blood center and the primary blood provider for Lowcountry hospitals including MUSC Health, Roper St. Francis Healthcare, and Trident Health Systems, today announced the dates for its 2022 Lifesaver League blood drives.
The Lifesaver League, a phrase coined by TBC, is a group of 11 sports teams from across the Carolinas that partner with The Blood Connection to host blood drives. They include local hockey, baseball, and soccer teams.
In Charleston, TBC is continuing its partnership with The Charleston RiverDogs for a 3rd season. Each blood donor at a RiverDogs-hosted blood drive will receive two tickets to a future RiverDogs game and another gift from TBC.
In addition to the RiverDogs, The Blood Connection announced its new partnership with the Charleston Battery. Their first two blood drives will be held on April 30th and August 20th, tentatively. Donors can sign up for the April 30th blood drive by clicking here or going to thebloodconnection.org/donate and searching ‘battery.'
TBC will host three blood drives with The RiverDogs at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park on April 20th, June 30th, and September 8th, 2022 (dates are subject to change). Visit thebloodconnection.org/
TBC recently concluded a successful season with the South Carolina Stingrays, collecting a total of 103 donations between two blood drives. The team will host another two blood drives in the off-season.
