Press Release
On the heels of a successful March return to public programming, Charleston Wine + Food’s board of directors has announced a leadership change. Long-time Executive Director Gillian Zettler (right) will depart for a new executive position capping nine successful years leading the multi-day, nationally recognized festival.
“Gillian’s leadership of this organization over the last nine years has strengthened its balance sheet and its programming, and reflected a genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion,” said board chair, Mamie Bush. “We could not be more proud of her work or more thrilled for her new opportunity.”
The festival’s board of directors intends to name an interim director soon and will be mounting a search for a permanent executive director.
“Our 2022 festival was a huge win,” said Bush. “And the work starts now to create even more value in ’23. The board has full confidence in the festival’s team to keep this momentum going.”
“My association with this amazing team, in this incredible city, has been a highlight of my career,” said Zettler. “Leaving is bittersweet, but I have all the confidence in the organization and its people. I know they’ll continue to ground their work in patience, gentleness, kindness, and love. It’s exciting to imagine handing the baton to another passionate leader.”
