Press Release
Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina is giving back in 2022 with the chance for local organizations to raise money for their causes through a lemonade stand. The Resort will select several local organizations supporting kids with their lemonade stands, with all proceeds kept by the group to use however they wish towards their group's goals.
Applications are encouraged for any kid-focused group, from sports teams, boy and girl scouts, school groups, bands, organizations supporting children's needs, and more.
“Nick, our General Manager, and I both have kids and are deeply committed to our community, so it made perfect sense for us to give back in any way we can,” Managing Director, Oliver Rooskens said. “A lemonade stand is a classic way for kids to earn money, and we thought it would be perfect to set up the stand during our high traffic events. This will be a great community-building exercise where kids can feel supported.”
Each lemonade stand comes stocked with everything the group needs to sell and raise money for their cause. Each group only needs to bring some eager kids (six to eight minimum) to operate the stand and signage to display over the four hour event.
The initiative will take place during some of the resort's most popular events this spring and summer including their Oyster Roasts and Party at the Point. And the lemonade stand is not the only way Charleston Harbor Resort supports kids' development. The very popular Mini Mariners Kids Camp has long been a highlight of parents in the local community for engaging, interactive spring and summer activities including birthday parties and day camps.
