The national political organization Run for Something today announced their endorsement of Michelle Brandt's candidacy for South Carolina House District 114.
“We're focused on continuing the fight to defend democracy and elect more young progressives,” Run for Something co-founder Amanda Litman said. “February's endorsement class is dedicated to making meaningful change in their communities and advancing progressive ideals and equity across the country.”
Run for Something is a movement dedicated to recruiting and supporting progressive candidates aged 40-and-under across the United States. Since its founding in 2017, Run for Something has helped elect over 500 hundred candidates. In South Carolina alone, four Run for Something-endorsed candidates have been elected, three of whom currently serve in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
“I'm so proud to receive this endorsement from such a prominent national organization that focuses on supporting the next generation of leadership,” Brandt said. “In this campaign, I'm running to offer the people of Charleston and Dorchester counties a fresh perspective to tackle the issues that affect all of us, like affordable housing, education, and infrastructure.”
