The Righteous Gemstones, a HBO series starring Danny McBride, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, and Adam DeVine, may have just wrapped filming their second season, but the show has reportedly already been renewed for a third season. The production has so far filmed almost entirely in the Charleston area.
During an interview for the movie Halloween Kills, David Gordon Green, who executive produces The Righteous Gemstones, told Collider that HBO had picked up the series for a third season and they're already working on ideas.
The half-hour comedy series was created by McBride, who also writes, directs, executive produces, and acts in the show. The Righteous Gemstones tells the story of the world famous Gemstone televangelist family, which has a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work.
Season two does not have an official release date yet, but it’s expected to debut at some point this winter.
