Your Mom's Donuts, home to two locations in Charlotte, NC, has opened their third location right here in the Charleston Area. The shop is now offering their creative square donuts at 3157 Maybank Hwy. on John's Island. Patrons can expect flavors ranging from Bananas Foster and Chocolate Espresso Cheesecake to Blackberry Cornmeal (made with blackberries from the John’s Island Farmers Market) and Pimento Cheese. According to the craft donut shop’s website, this week’s specialty flavors have a “Breaking Bad” theme:
- Blue Sky – vanilla bean, homemade hard candy
- Birthday Plate (filled) – egg custard filled, brown sugar bacon
- Christmas Style – half jalapeno jam & half strawberry chili jam, sweet cream drizzle
- Pear of Hermanos – spiced pear and bourbon compote, mini pie crust square

Owner Courtney Buckley’s donuts are all crafted with locally sourced ingredients like strawberries, blueberries, and watermelon from local farms such as Fireant Farms (Johns Island) and Wishbone Heritage Farms (St. George). Your Mom's Donuts began serving the greater Charlotte area in 2013. Buckley started the business with home deliveries, then in 2014 added the first storefront in Matthews, NC, close to where she lived at the time.
