WalletHub recently released its study on 2021's Best & Worst Places to Start a Career and Charleston ranked as the 6th best in the country.
To help recent graduates launch their careers in the right place, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities based on 28 key indicators of career-friendliness. The data set ranges from the availability of entry-level jobs to monthly average starting salary to housing affordability.
Starting Your Career in Charleston (1=Best; 91=Avg.):
- 44th – Projected Population Growth (2046 vs. 2016)
- 79th – Monthly Avg. Starting Salary (Adjusted for Cost of Living)
- 12th – Entry-Level Jobs per 100,000 Working-Age Population
- 18th – Unemployment Rate
- 13th – % of Adults Aged 25 & Older with at Least a Bachelor's Degree
