Organizers announced today that the Lowcountry Oyster Festival has been postponed. Below is a statement from Jonathan Kish, president of the Charleston Restaurant Foundation (CRF).
“After monitoring recent coronavirus developments, the CRF Board made the difficult decision to postpone the Lowcountry Oyster Festival scheduled for January 31.
The health and safety of our guests, volunteers, and the community are of utmost importance to the Foundation. The Board and staff have been working diligently on safety protocols for the Festival. However, since we first announced the event date, case and positivity rates have increased significantly. We believe that a decision ahead of the holidays is the most prudent and considerate course of action with the information available at this time.
Ticket holders will be offered the option of a full refund or ticket transfer to the rescheduled Festival.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and continued support of this important charity event. We look forward to sharing updates about the rescheduled Festival.”
