Thousands of students across the state of South Carolina have started th is s chool year at home, facing the challenges of online learning. This requires certain technological equipment that may not be afforded to everyone. With this in mind, I Serve with Joy has been raising money, acquiring wireless earphones, and partnering with other local nonprofits to provides learners with wireless earphones to help them stay focused during virtual learning experience s, whether in person or at home.
To date, I Serve with Joy and their “WE HEAR YOU” initiative has distributed over 4,000 earphones to 30 grassroots organizations in the Lowcountry.
This has been made possible by the generous support of their community partners, including Restore Global, Charleston Good, Krystal Klear Kids, Youth Generation Matters, Morant Trucking LLC, and the North Charleston Police Department a s well as their corporate sponsors, Atlas Technologies Inc., Brawny, and South Atlantic Bank. I Serve with Joy is also grateful for the support of numerous contributors including Senator Marlon Kimpson,State Representative Krystal Matthews, State Representative Shedron Williams, State Representative Wendell Gilliard, State Representative J A Moore, Charleston Hispanic Association, Charleston Rise, Chef Carlos Brown, Community Resource Center Summerville, Hope Over Hurt (HOH), Howard’s Barber Shop, JTM Production & Management, Kingdom Vision Christian Center, New Leaf Landscape, One Man Ready, and the The Spot 47.
Now they have another 4000 pairs of earphones to distribute but they need your help!
They are looking for volunteers to help assemble packages of earphones for mailing and drive-by distribution to get more earphones to the youth that need them. The volunteer event will feature music and food, so you are really invited to a fun and purposeful work party!
They also need your financial support to keep acquiring earphones and other resources for the community.
According to Joy Campbell, founder of I Serve with Joy, “the demand for earphones is still on the rise as more and more students are thrown into new learning situations, either remotely or in person. Schools keep asking us for supplies because so many students lack this simple accessory to improve their learning capacity.”
I Serve with Joy is celebrating their 4th anniversary of community service and is encouraging supporters to participate in their GIV4 A CAUSE fundraiser by making a donation at the event or online at their website: iservewithjoy.org
