On November 12th, Connect with Charleston Moves 2020, a free, livestream event, will be held from 6 pm to 7 pm. Charleston Moves says the event will be “an engaging look at this year’s exciting multi-modal accomplishments throughout Charleston County, the current and upcoming priorities of Charleston Moves, and specific ways for the public to take action to support Charleston Moves' people-powered movement.”
Registration is free, but required to participate. People who sign up before October 12th will receive a package in the mail with a schedule for the evening, handful of goodies, and advocacy toolkit.
The event will replace the organizatin’s annual fall fundraiser, normally held in person. They ask that you consider donating (before and/or during the event) to help keep them on track during this difficult budget year. Contributions of $50 or more will unlock tiers of newly designed Charleston Moves products (no code needed to view) for donors to choose from. All items will be printed locally and mailed directly to recipients.
This year and into 2021, Charleston Moves says their major calls to action include:
- Ashley River Bike & Pedestrian Bridge
- North Bridge to Cosgrove Avenue
- James Island Connector and Wappoo Cut Bridge
- Battery2Beach
- Highway 41
- I-526 Lowcountry Corridor
- Comprehensive, Regional and Municipal Plans, including, but not limited to:
- Lowcountry Rapid Transit
- PRIME North Charleston
- Mount Pleasant Way
- People Pedal CHS
- Rethink Folly Road
- Main Road Corridor
